Children's Accident Insurance

Accidents can happen at any time – both during school hours and in leisure time. With a children's accident insurance, you ensure that your child is covered around the clock if a sudden event leads to personal injury. The insurance applies regardless of whether the injury occurs at home, at school, on the sports field, or in a part-time job.

It can also help cover expenses for treatments such as physiotherapy or chiropractic care in connection with an injury. If you want extra security, you can choose additional coverage such as financial support in case of critical illness or insurance for dangerous sports if your child engages in a high-risk activity like motocross.

Coverage

Coverage Overview

If your child sustains a permanent disability of 5% or more after an accident, compensation will be paid based on the agreed insurance amount.

Example:

  • A disability degree of 15% with an insurance amount of DKK 1 million results in compensation of DKK 150,000.
If the unthinkable happens and your child loses their life due to an accident, DKK 25,000 is paid out to cover funeral expenses.

The insurance covers necessary dental expenses not covered by the public school dental care. Tooth injuries are also covered if treatment can only be carried out later, after the child turns 18.

If your child’s degree of disability is assessed at 30% or more, the compensation is doubled.
Covers necessary treatments by physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath, reflexologist, and acupuncturist (after medical assessment). The insurance covers treatment until the child’s condition is assessed as stable, but no longer than one year after the accident.

If your child sustains an injury such as a bone fracture, complete Achilles tendon rupture, or cruciate ligament injury, an immediate compensation of DKK 15,000 can be paid quickly. This coverage applies regardless of whether the child later develops permanent disability.

An extended children’s insurance provides greater security and includes:

  • Death coverage: If the child dies after the age of 1, DKK 50,000 is paid out.
  • Critical illness: If the child is diagnosed with a serious illness, DKK 100,000 can be paid out.
  • Disability compensation for illness: If the child suffers a permanent disability due to illness, compensation can be paid for a disability degree of at least 5%.

Provides extra protection if the child participates in high-risk sports.
