Coverage
Coverage Overview
Full-time accident insurance
Full-time accident insurance provides coverage around the clock—whether the accident happens at work, at home, during volunteer work, or while helping friends and acquaintances.
If you work less than 30 hours a week, it is necessary to have full-time accident insurance to be covered at all times.
If you have full-time accident insurance and suffer a covered injury while at work, you can receive compensation both through your employer’s insurance and your own full-time accident insurance.
Disability coverage
The disability amount determines how much compensation you receive if you suffer a permanent injury as a direct result of an accident.
The degree of permanent injury is determined based on the medical nature of the injury. The assessment is made according to the symptoms caused by the injury and is generally the same for everyone—regardless of age, gender, occupation, or income—since it is assumed that the same injury has the same impact on different individuals.
The evaluation follows the guideline disability table prepared by the Danish Work Environment Authority (Arbejdsmarkedets Erhvervssikring).
The degree of disability is determined based on the complete documentation of the case—including medical records and medical statements, which are prepared in collaboration between you and a doctor.
The accident insurance provides coverage for a disability degree of at least 5%. For permanent injuries of 30% or more, double compensation is paid.
Dental injuries
The insurance covers reasonable and necessary expenses for dental injuries resulting from a covered accident. You can get up to 100% of the treatment costs covered.
Additionally, we also cover chewing injuries that occur while eating if the damage is caused by a foreign object in the food. In such cases, you can receive coverage of up to 50% of the expenses.
Treatment expenses
The insurance covers reasonable and necessary expenses for treatment by a physiotherapist, chiropractor, osteopath, reflexologist, and acupuncturist—however, only after medical assessment.
Expenses are covered until the condition is assessed as stable by a doctor, but no longer than until the degree of disability is determined—and never beyond one year after the date of the accident.
Immediate compensation
Immediate compensation is financial assistance paid as a “quick fix” for certain injuries—regardless of whether the injury results in permanent disability.
You can receive immediate compensation of DKK 15,000 per injury event if you have suffered a covered injury and experience one of the following injuries:
- Bone fracture*
- Complete rupture of the Achilles tendon
- Complete rupture of collateral ligaments
- Complete or partial rupture of cruciate ligaments
The compensation is paid once per body part per year. This means, for example, that you cannot receive multiple immediate compensations if you break the same bone multiple times within the same year.
Immediate compensation can also be added to the child accident insurance if you want coverage for your child.
*Covered bone fractures include: collarbone, shoulder, upper and lower arm, elbow, wrist, carpal/metacarpal bones, jaw, neck and back, pelvis, hip, tailbone, thigh and lower leg, knee, ankle, midfoot/tarsus including heel.
Dangerous Sport
If you participate in motocross, go-karting, diving, skydiving, flying or other types of high-risk sports, you must add Dangerous Sport coverage to be covered by the insurance.

Coverage in case of death
Death coverage is part of the accident insurance and is paid out to the closest relatives, unless you have designated another beneficiary.
The compensation is paid out only in the event of death caused by an accident.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
When does the accident insurance cover?
Why should I have accident insurance?
What does permanent injury mean?
Permanent injury refers to the lasting effects that remain after treatment is completed. To receive compensation, a minimum disability degree of 5% is required, which is assessed by a specialist doctor. Your compensation depends on the degree of disability as well as the insurance amount you have chosen.
What treatments does the insurance cover?
Where and when does the insurance apply?
Your accident insurance covers you worldwide—however, for a maximum of two years during travel or stays outside Denmark. You can choose between:
- Full-time coverage, which applies 24 hours a day.
- Leisure coverage, which only covers injuries that occur during your free time.
What is the difference between full-time and leisure accident insurance?
Full-time accident insurance covers injuries 24 hours a day, including at the workplace. If you are covered by a workers’ compensation insurance through your employer, you can still receive compensation from both insurances.
If you work more than 25 hours a week, you can instead choose leisure accident insurance, which covers you during your free time.
